Word Document Question

I received a 4-page word document in my e-mail. I saved it in My Documents; it says Type: MS Office, Size 48 KB (for all 4 pages) Then I made a copy of it and saved it in the same folder. Of it, it says Type: MS Word, Size 22 KB (still all 4 pages) Then I printed one of the 4 pages, added my signature and scanned it back into the computer in PDF format. In the same folder, it now says Type: Foxit PDF Document, Size 709 KB. Then I converted this one page back to a .doc file. In the same folder, it now says Type: MS Office, Size 2357 KB. Is that what happens when you convert from .doc to .pdf to .doc? And is there a way to add this one page to the original 4 pages to make one document with 5 pages? I am running Office 2010 and have never worked with Office work before.

How did you convert from .pdf to .doc? Yes, converting files can lead to interesting sizes. Formatting codes play a big part. I don't understand about adding the "one page to the original 4 pages" - if you have the scanned page and it is a text file and not an image, you can certainly combine the two documents with a copy/paste. -steve

sboots How did you convert from .pdf to .doc? .....you can certainly combine the two documents with a copy/paste. -steve Hahaha! How come I didn't think of that? I guess sometimes I am so convinced that things have to be complicated that I can't figure out the simple ones! I converted from .pdf to .doc by using an on-line free service here: http://www.pdftoword.com/ Very convenient when you need a conversion only once or twice a year! Thanks for your reply, Steve. Maybe from now on I'll be able to remember copy/paste!

Sometimes we do tend to overlook the simple solutions. Glad that I could help and thanks for the link. I was trying to determine if you had somehow taken the scanned text in as an image rather than text. -steve
